Somebody Fill Me In...

I was listening to MLB on XM today, which I do all day everyday, and I heard mention of the 3 hit batters in yesterday's Sox/Yankees game.  I saw Jeter get plunked in the back, but I missed the other 2 (I was flipping back and forth watching Lost).  According to the accounts on the radio, the pitches thrown by Myers and Riske looked like errant throws, and Sturtze's looked intentional (Way to go T!).  If anyone saw the game, let me know your thoughts.

It's spring training and already tempers are flaring between the Red Sox and Yankees.  I can't wait until they hook up in May.  Damon's return to Boston.  Should be fun to watch!

Myers hit J.T. Snow. David Riske plunked Derek Jeter in the back. Then Tanyon Sturtze, who hurt himself in a brawl at Fenway in 2004, hit Mike Lowell in the hip and received a warning from the umpires. Sturtze has hit three batters in five appearances this spring and said he's "trying to work on my command." Torre noted that Riske hit Jeter with a forkball, not a heater. The bigger problem with a hit ball, by far, was Posada.

I was watching (I'm a Sox fan)
and saw all three get hit. Sturtze's looked intentional, but I think the Yankees thought Riske's might have been intentional, since he hit Jeter. Honestly, the person who cared the most was the umpire. Since Lowell (the guy who got hit by Sturtze) is new, I don't think he really thought much of it.

I do like how players can be swapped, yet the rivalry still lives on.
